The C.G.I. is an economical gem in the Austin area. If you're lucky enough to get a room here you won't have any problem surviving a move to Austin working for the entry level pay of about $15/ HR (JAN 2022). Don't complain because they've heard It already. Room 14 was spacious and the cider lock make it very quiet. The toilet clogs easily so no trash or tampons please. I woke up with headaches a few times which I assume was a neighbor's microwave against the wall. Turning my head to the footboard fixed the problem. The cable has hundreds of stations. Use the high numbers. The low ones are all commercials and recorded earliers. Even the news channels. The bar next door is nice if you're hispanic. You'll be frisked by a policeman when you enter. The dance floor is big and so is the bar. There appear to be long-term guests in many of the rooms. They are all types so you'll probably get along with someone. The Mexican restaurant next door serves good tacos but the ceiling is very low. In fact the whole building seemed to settle by six feet the six weeks I was there. Circle K I'd convenient but your California EBT Card may not work the first or second time you swipe dependent on the network. There's an odd sense of where things go sometimes - like haunted house or something, but you get two locks on the doors and the tile floor is not as thin as some motels in Las Vegas, Phoenix or Sacramento or Reno. All in all it is the best price for a weekly hotel I've found in the Austin area.
I have lived here about three years. The place has been sold recently and the new owners are already making improvements. I feel optimistic about the change.
